how do I find out what the charges were

If you want the official source of charges, sentencing (and all other court filing), you would want to pull the court case up in PACER: https://pacer.uscourts.gov/

How do I find this out if there in USP Lewisburg - do they have a bail just trying to get as much info as possible if anyone can help
How can I know if inmate has being notify they got messeges

Each prison has a different way to electronically communicate with inmates. That’s why I would suggest asking the facility directly. They will be able to direct you the best way for their facility.

No worries… it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to track the inmate if it’s someone you care enough to know where they are. The prison system can move an inmate at any time. So it lets you get an alert if they are moved. Search for them here and then click their name once you find them:

How can I contact an inmate at the Petersburg Medium FCI other than sending a letter threw the mail? Is there a way to send a Email or Message?

Snail mail will be your best bet, since you can't just pick up the phone and ask them. They probably can receive electronic letters (depending on the facility), but how to do that will be different depending on the inmate/facility. Probably best to write them a letter and ask them if they can receive electronic correspondence.

Thank you, he finally called me. But he gave me a website to go to that will send them 2 pictures 3 times a week and a small letter. But he must have spelled it wrong. He said it was www.aneelio.org but it went there and I'm pretty sure it's not right. Any clue what he is talking about?

Can I send a message to an inmate on here and if so how

No, you would need to write them a letter, or depending on the facility, they may have a way to receive electronic letters (usually at a cost). Not exactly email, but it will be faster than snail mail. You will want to contact the inmate via normal letter or phone call to see if they can receive electronic letters or not.
Why a Projected Release Date was: "2030-08-31", now: "2031-05-14" ? Why they add more time??
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
Most likely a sentence adjustment from the court. The Bureau of Prisons can't change someone's sentence beyond making adjustments for "good time" (up to 54 days off per year) or removing a year for successful RDAP completion. That change is a 279 day extension, which is more than someone could have lost for being "bad" for a year.

How do I see new updated release date

If you track the inmate here, it will show you (and update itself as it's updated with BoP):

How do you remove yourself and the inmate from this site?
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
You can remove your account by deleting it, but an inmate can’t be removed unless you remove them from the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ system (the inmate data comes directly from the BoP systems… there isn’t a way to add or remove someone on our end from that).

I sent money through western union and have no idea if it ever reached my mans trust fund acct. I emailed the facility and they didnt answer my question. So i dont know if i sent it correctly or did something wrong. All i know is that i still havent had any communication.
What does it mean when it says that they are already released from the custody? Where do they go/stay if they are still awaiting sentencing?
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
There isn't a specific place. Someone would normally stay at their home (since that's where they live). There might be conditions on a bail/bond release (for example you might need to check-in with probation/pre-trial services and they might not allow you to leave the state/district without pre-approval). But normally, they would "be" at their place of residence.

thank you for your answer... I just received a notification last september 8 that the location of the inmate that i have been monitoring has just recently changed. In Transit to a certain location.
When I look up my friend, all it's says as far as location is " in transit". When I click on his name it pulls up a list and says that's not the entire list of inmates at the location but it does not tell me where I can contact him at. How do I find out what " in transit " means and how I can contact my friend.
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
"In Transit" means they are not at a specific facility (so there's not a way to contact him). It can be used when he's being moved from one location to another, or if he's a "self-surrender" and he hasn't been processed into the facility.

If you choose to track him with the Inmate Tracker, you can get alerted as soon as he's at an actual location (and where it is).

Thank you and you are right after I called a million times just for them to tell me that my husband is on restrictions and they can’t tell me anything else. When they say restrictions does that mean he is in the hole? And I wrote him so just waiting for him to write me back.
digitalpoint

Most likely ya... If that's the case, it could be disciplinary for a set amount of time for something he did. It could also be temporary not for something he did (for example is there was a fight that they didn't see and they are investigating who was involved and who was at fault). I believe they can put someone in the SHU for up to 30 days without reason (investigating something).

Oh ok thank you for that info
how do you find out about someone in federal prison
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
There’s not a lot you can find out from the prison itself beyond their name, register number, location, age, etc.

What specifically are you trying to find out?
if time was extended and later went to solitary that's more than one.problem
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
Yep... could also be a delay with how things were entered into their system. The Bureau of Prisons isn't exactly real-time or efficient. Could be one person handles data entry for loss of good time and someone else handles data entry if inmate location. I suspect the best answer about what happened will probably come from the inmate themselves.
why would someone be put in solitary
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
Could be a bunch of reasons, but typically it revolves around breaking the rules. There are a zillion rules, but some of the most common rules that are broken are things like fighting, stealing or being caught with contraband (alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, cell phones, etc.) for example.
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
You can also be put into solitary not as a punishment for something you did, but temporarily until the prison staff completes an investigation to figure out what happened in a certain situation. For example if a prisoner was assaulted by another prisoner and the staff don't know exactly what happened, both parties will go to solitary until it's sorted out.
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
...but if the inmate in question is in solitary and they lost good time, in all likelihood the prison found them complicit with breaking some rule (you don't lose good time if you are solitary before an investigation is done to determine who broke the rules, like the above example of a fight).
what would cause release date to change
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
If release date was extended, it could be a loss of “good time”. If release is sooner it could be a change in sentence from court or could be something like completion of RDAP drug program.
Not sure how to do all this. Very new to this federal inmate thing. My husband is currently in Atlanta, just got moved there.
What does In Transit mean? How often is this updated?
digitalpoint
digitalpoint
Normally it means they are being moved between facilities. Sometimes it’s a week or so before they get registered in the new location, sometimes longer. Really just depends on how long it take BOP to transport someone as well as update their systems.
