Bail only applies to cases that are still in court (you sometimes can post bail to not be in prison while your case is pending). Most federal prisons don’t house people that are still going through court (there are some exceptions, and those are normally at an administrative prison).
Same with charges… you normally would need to look at the court records for the case to find out specific charges for something.
As far as an early release, if they have already been sentenced and it’s a federal crime/prison, you get a couple weeks off per year for “good time” (not getting in trouble). There’s also an RDAP program if it’s drug related that they can complete to get a little time off. The inmate’s counselor should give them info on that if it’s relevant to them.

Yep… the only way you can get an early release is by order of a federal judge (basically the judge changing the actual sentencing).
Other than that, no… you can’t just call someone up and ask them to release them early. 😀

That won’t give you charges or bail amount, only release date. It’s also a “not as good” version of what’s already on this site.
As I was looking over this site. In which I am new too. I have a family member serving time with the fed. He was transfer it been 48 hrs, no one has heard from him. I understand that this will happen after doing research on inmates in Federal custody.
My question
1) how will you know what prison they will end up at while in intransit from one prison to another
2) I understand about levels determine where the inmates goes and how they will be house
3) Why it take so long to call home once reach a location after been transfer
4) He been at 2 prison in the last 7 days.
Just trying to understand, Cause I am going to ride this ride tell the wheels fall off

You won't know what prison they are going to until they get there.
As far as calls, an inmate can't just walk into a prison and start using the phone, there's paperwork and stuff to get their money transferred and their accounts setup (it's the same reason an inmate can't normally buy stuff at commissary right away). It's not instant/digital either... like they need to fill out a form to add contacts to their allowed phone numbers, then those people need to get approved by someone, then they get programmed into the system, etc. Think like going to the DMV, except 1,000 slower/more annoying.

I am not sure about federal bail, but a rough rule of thumb for bail is that you will need about 10% of the amount set by the court. You will probably need to go through a bail bondsman to secure the bail. Once bail is paid there will most likely be terms for the bail. The terms MUST be followed to the letter or bail will get revoked.
I don't know if federal bail is the same though.
