I hope this message finds you in good spirits, despite the challenges we face. I’ve spent a significant amount of time reading through the posts on this platform, and I’ve noticed a common thread of difficulty and confusion when it comes to navigating the correctional system. It’s clear that many families are doing their best under trying circumstances.

I want to express my empathy for those who feel overwhelmed by the complexities of the system. It’s not always intuitive, and the lack of clear guidance can be disheartening. However, I believe that with a bit of guidance and support, we can all learn how to manage essential tasks such as funding our loved ones’ accounts and maintaining communication with them.

On the other hand, it’s disconcerting to see just how challenging it can be for families to locate their incarcerated loved ones and provide them with the comfort they deserve. The system’s shortcomings should not be a barrier to supporting and connecting with family members who are incarcerated.

As someone who has navigated these waters for 16 years across various facilities, I’ve accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience that I am eager to share. I understand the ins and outs of the system, and I’m here to answer your questions honestly and to the best of my ability.

Please feel free to reach out with any inquiries or if you need assistance. Together, we can bridge the gap of understanding and make a tangible difference in the lives of those we care about.

I agree with you. I decided to setup a website with the purpose of trying to help. I know people who are in the correction system at both state and federal level and it is difficult to find any information on things but especially for when they come out of the systems. They are pretty much dumped on the streets with a pittance. It also amazes me how things are different in different states as to what inmates can have sent in. It makes little sense.

The website id https://felonhelper.com

The site is a work in progress and if anyone has any input to give I will gladly add it.

I need help...my best friend in life is two days in Pekin, IL Camp. She is sentenced to 9 years. We are trying to establish communications. I've signed up with corrlinks..but a link has yet to be established. She has health issues that are already not being acknowledged. I'm 2 days into this system and i am a 21-year housing authority administrator, i know systems, but i need help here.

It can take a while before they get their tablet, but you should be able to see them in an inmate search. It may be that they are undergoing medical evaluations too.

Well, wow this has been difficult and special… so much to learn…. All I can honestly say is nobody has called me stupid for loving and trying to help the person in prison!!! Thank you all! That means a lot!

The is absolutely nothing wrong with supporting a loved one. Those who would call anyone stupid truly don't appreciate the sacrifice and commitment it needs to take care of an incarcerated loved one. More power to you!

While the 4th does not seem like a day to celebrate, I offer this, we contact and bless our loved ones…I have, am I am blessed, many others in different worlds mourn…a
Passing… we are special.. let us bless today, despite who we are missing, our days will be brighter.. mine have been since joining this community!

Holidays are always difficult. In many ways having a loved one incarcerated is worse than having someone pass away. You want the best for them and know that they are wishing they were free to enjoy the day with their family and loved ones. Stay strong.

Staying strong is very important, not only for them but us too, if we don’t they may not. Mine are now, made friends, doing ok.. wow, just like here, friends help!!! Blessed today!!!

And now I get messages that “free” people are complaining… you know, perspective means a lot…and I’m gaining a lot here.. I’m brighter but NOT understanding… this is a journey.. ok next steps tomorrow! Sleep well to all!
